How to Have True Faith
Faith is connection to the power of God. So if you connect to the power of the Lord, and when you turn on the light, you will light up. You will have light in your life. You will have a connection to the power of God in heaven.
But the question is, how do we get faith? It is the Word of God that provides us with an answer. The Word of God says in Romans 10:17 that “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Words of God.”
Faith comes by hearing, just like what we are doing today, and hearing by the Words of our living God.
Do you hear my voice? Do you hear me? Do you hear me clearly? Do you understand what I am saying?
It is the Word of God that creates faith in your life. When you start having the sense of faith, the sixth sense will come back to you, which was stolen by the devil when man had sinned.
What do you need to do? Listen to the Word of God always.
In Acts 14:7-10, we read:
“And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.”
When Paul saw that this man was listening to him, his eyes perceived faith in him. Paul did three things: he preached the good news, he saw this man had faith in him to be healed, and he told the man, “Stand and walk.”
What did the man do? He listened to the words Paul preached, he had faith to be healed and when he was told to walk, he quickly walked with the power of our living God.
Physical healing is the least of the things our living God can do. The biggest healing is spiritual healing — that you can know truly what God is in your life and you will never be separated from Him.
At this moment, how will you have true Faith?
You will have true faith when you understand these things. And you cannot have that without knowing the Words of God.
These are the Words of our Almighty God. These are not ordinary words. These are the Words of God. They are called the words of life.
You read the newspaper today, you throw it away, and you will never read it again the next day. If you read it the next day, it is not acceptable to read anymore, it is old.
But the Words of God, for thousands of years, were read, feasted on, and preached, but every moment, they are new to our hearts and ears.
Why? Because the Word of God says in John 6:63, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
Now the Word of God is not just mental assent. Many people read God’s word and agree it is true but they are agreeing only with their minds. And that is not what gets the job done.
Faith should not only be in our minds, but also in our hearts.
