Mayor Baste Duterte’s Inspection of Priority Projects Uplifts Barangay Tamayong
On August 3, 2023, Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte of Davao City conducted an inspection of the priority projects in Barangay Tamayong. This included the facilities to be constructed on a hectare of land donated by Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy.
Mayor Duterte made a recent visit to Barangay Tamayong Calinan, where he inspected the 1.5-kilometer farm-to-market road that has remained unpaved for nearly four decades. The multi-million project is slated for completion by the City Engineer’s Office within the year. Another key project is the completion of the farm-to-market road in Sicao Village which will facilitate the natives in transporting their goods.
These projects are expected to benefit many Indigenous Peoples (IPs) who sell their fruits and other harvests in the City. The mayor also visited a hectare of land donated by Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ in Barangay Tamayong. This land will house a new barangay hall, health center, multi-purpose gym, Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, tribal hall, women and tourism buildings, and even the Super Health Center from the Office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.
Mayor Baste and Barangay Captain Benjie Gantalao expressed their gratitude to Pastor Apollo for his unwavering support of the barangay.
Barangay Captain Benjie Gantalao stated: “On behalf of the Barangay Council of Tamayong, Calinan, Davao City, we extend our deepest gratitude to Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy. We thank you, Pastor, for your generosity towards the people of Brgy. Tamayong where you donated a 1-hectare lot. Mayor Baste Duterte is also pleased as this has set an example for our barangay. We are committed to developing this area in partnership with the City Government of Davao, aiming to make it a showcase not just in our city but across the Philippines.”
