The First Eagle Who Took Flight

Twenty-one years ago at the Heathrow Airport, our Beloved Pastor, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy handed me this Bible with a dedication that means so much, I treasure it every single day of my life.

Who could have imagined that the Kingdom Ministry would grow this big and saturate the four corners of the globe in 34 years’ time?

Looking back at where we started, every day was a walk of faith with our Beloved Pastor. It was like walking on a thin line in the midst of intense persecution, hunger, and uncertainty.

But he has always taught us to look beyond what our human eyes can see. As he would always reiterate, Noah was not saved by grace but by obedience. In those times when we were but a few following the Appointed Son of God, it was absolute obedience coupled with great faith through and through.

Back in the day when we would scour the public market of Agdao for reject vegetables late in the afternoon, he would talk of grand cathedrals, ultramodern edifices, and hundreds of choir and orchestra members.

Back when Pastor Apollo and I would walk to and fro the worker’s house and the Post Office to send mail, and cars would swoosh by leaving clouds of dust — we have no car, not even a single peso for jeepney fare, he had seen the future. He never wavered in his commitment and dedication in doing the Almighty Father’s Will no matter what.

He was the first eagle to take flight, and he brought us along with him with indomitable spirit, unflinching faith, and unbreakable commitment to lay down his life for the Father’s Will.

May this serve as an inspiration for each one of you, in whatever station of spiritual journey you may be at the moment.

Be an eagle like the Appointed Son of God. Do not grow weary. Do not faint. Do not waver in your faith.

Pray unceasingly that on the days when you will be like an eaglet that will be trained to fly and removed from your comfortable nest, you will fear not.

For “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth away fear.” 1 Jn 4:18

Be ye perfected in the Almighty Father’s love through His Appointed Son!
