Loving God and Loving your Neighbor
Try this and you will see that you don’t need anything else in this world. You only apportion it.
People depend on their salaries to supply their needs. So, if you were earning, for example, fifty thousand a month, how do you apportion that salary of yours? How do you do it? 10% for travel, another 20% for food, etc.
The mistake of many people is they are one-day millionaires. When they get their salary, they go to the bar, they spend it all, and then for the next month, they don’t have money anymore.
If people are wise, they would apportion that to many different things that they need: housing, clothing, travel, food, or rent.
But that is only one part of us.
Ninety-nine percent of us should be apportioned to a spiritual-based relationship with God first, and then with our fellowmen.
That is why God said:
“Love God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, with all your strength.” (Matthew 22:37)
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39)
This is how it must be properly apportioned. God did not even want the Ten Commandments to be focused all on Him. Only the first four commandments are the apportioning of our relationship with God. The six other commandments after that belong to “Love your neighbor as yourself”.
Sometimes you apportion everything to God, but you do not love your neighbor. God does not want that. So, it must be apportioned the way the Father wants it.
The way you love God, the way you love Him, the way you respect Him, the way you treat Him, and the way you are courteous to Him, are supposed to be the way you treat your fellowmen.
