Datu Pamulingan Commemorates 1st Investiture Anniversary
The first anniversary of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy’s conferment as Datu Pamulingan by the Obu Manuvu Tribe was celebrated on May 6, 2023, and it was a momentous occasion. This honorary title was conferred upon him in 2022 by the Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Conference for Peace and Development (MIPCPD) for his unwavering love and services rendered to the indigenous peoples of the Philippines.
Datu Pamulingan visited the Healing and Reconciliation or HERO Site in Tamayong, Davao City, Philippines, along with officials of the National Commission of Indigenous Peoples and other IP Leaders. This site holds significant meaning for Datu Pamulingan and Datu Diolito Diarog and his clan, as it was where years of resentment, animosity, and conflicts between the two parties ended.
During the anniversary event, NCIP Chairperson Sec. Allen Capuyan and NCIP Regional Counterparts were in attendance, along with other distinguished guests, including Lipatuan Joel Unad, Bawan Tagaenod Jacob Lanes, Datu Diolito Diarog, Atty. Cesar Ortega, and Dr. Lorraine Marie Badoy.
Datu Pamulingan, the honorary chairman of UNIPHIL, delivered a special message for the occasion, and tribal leaders and Sec. Capuyan presented him with a special token of appreciation for his unwavering love and support to the IPs in the country.
Since the beginning of Datu Pamulingan’s ministry, he has always taken care of the IPs and continues to honor their humility, kindness, and resilience as their greatest assets.
